The Story of Miley Cyrus, the Late, Late and Me

About three weeks ago RTE came into the school to interview our school guitar group.
It was for a Stephen Gately tribute which they were making. When the people from RTE came in we were all excited. we went into the 'Parents Room', talked a bit, then went to work. We were playing The Climb by Miley Cyrus on our guitars. We took about five shoots and we were finished.
Two weeks later our guitar teacher, Ms. Larkin, got a phone call from RTE saying that Miley Cyrus had heard us playing The Climb and that she was so impressed that she gave us tickets to the Late Late show when she is on it tomorrow night. When we heard we were so excited. Can't wait, it's on Friday!!

Winning in Croke Park

I woke up nervous and then my mates knocked for me. So I got up, dressed and got my breakfast and off the way we went to Croker. So when we got there, we had to wait till our match was on. So we were looking at another match.
Before the match was on we had to go down the dressing rooms to get dressed and get warm before the match kicked off. When we were warm enough we went out to the pitch to get the match started.
The ref blew the whistle and the game kicked off! Shane kicked the ball over the bar for the first point and we were winning by my point until they came back. It went to extra time and the rest is history!

Winning in Croke Park

I was nervous at first but when I walked onto the pitch, it felt like I was king of the world or something. Even if we didn’t win I still would have been happy for just playing in Croker. So when we won, it was the best moment in my life, people cheering us on. It was great to see all my mates happy and Ms. Harte and Mr Brennan and especially for the school.
The goal I scored was lovely - from the half way – I’m not even messin’!! That goal finished it because Nato scored 1 minute before me. That meant we were in the lead by six points. We won, it was great, the first team from our school in 56 years to win at Croke Park!

A Breslin Poem

Two months ago we started on our way,
We are going to win on Saturday,
We beat teams like they never turned up!
Hopefully now we can win the cup!!

We had mountains to climb,
But now it is our time,
We’ll win all before us,
And tour the city in a open air bus!

Now we are here,
We need are fans to cheer,
It’s our last time,
So we will shine!!

Playing in Croke Park

'Playing in Croke Park means everything to all of us on the Gaelic team.
The school is very happy that we made it because we tried our best'.

Jake Kelly

'Playing in Croke Park is like a dream come true. If you really think about it. All the great football players, rugby players and gaa players that have played on that pitch. Now it is our turn to show what we are made of. We all want to win because we want our names to be remembered in the history of the school and everywhere else. The last time our school made it I was in 2nd class and they lost. They were heartbroken. Now we want to win and we want to make us proud and our Gaelic teacher Ms. Harte because I don’t think she has ever won there. We are going to make her proud'
Josh Breslin

'Playing in Croke Park means everything to me because
my brother played there but lost. The last team to play and win there from our school
was 56 years ago. If we win it will be the best feeling ever'.

Nathan Barrett

Croke Park Victory

It all started two months ago,
We haven’t lost a match since the first throw,
Were gonna win on Saturday,
Green and white all the way.

We beat Gabriels, James and Marlboro St,
When we play Gaelic, we have magic in our feet,
This is our last Gaelic game,
Were gonna leave Brunner in shame.

We scored points, goals and had some fun,
The best of our Gaelic hasn’t even begun,
Hopefully we will be the best,
Give example to the rest.

On Saturday our nerves didn’t show,
We went on the pitch and played with our normal flow.
In extra-time we kept their score to zero,
After the match everybody was a hero.

Eric Hyland.

Croke Park Pride

Two months we started on our way,
Beating teams every schoolday,
The finals are here,
We have no fear,
Lead the way to victory on Saturday.

The crowd is here,
Giving us a big cheer,
The whistle blows,
And now were here,
Well keep the score nice and simple.

Leave them helpless with our hands and feet
We will be hard are we to beat,
Tired and glum will be Brunner
Maybe they should do a runner!

Croke Park Poem

We’re so excited, can’t wait ,
You know I wont be late,
We score points for fun,
We’ll do it for everyone.

We have being waiting for a year,
Now the final is here,
We will be everywhere,
Come on lads, it’s nearly there .

So get out there and be proud,
We’re all in the crowd,
We will be waiting for you ,
With the news if you win or lose.

Now we have won ,
Now all of this is done ,
We were waiting for years,
So don’t burst into tears.

Shake their hands ,
Then run to the stands,
To get the cup,
Then lift it up.

It has been 56 years since we won,
Now we're number one,
We won it ‘cause we had fun.

We recently created different versions of Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'. We used different art materials each week. We used paint, pencil and soft chalk pastels. The versions of 'Starry Night' above were created with these different art materials.
